Wiiks Transport chooses FleetX as its new TMS

We are proud to welcome Wiiks Transport AS as a new FleetX customer. Headquartered in Skibotn in Storfjord, with more than 100 employees, Wiiks is one of the largest and most experienced operators in cross-border transport in the Cap of the North (Nordkalotten) - and a key player in waste transport in Northern Norway.

They are now modernising their operations by bringing order management, dispatch, driver app, invoicing and time tracking together in a single cloud-based platform.

A company with deep roots - and high ambitions

Wiiks Transport was established in 1974 and is today part of Saltens Gruppen AS. The company is known for three things:

  • Cross-border transport in the Cap of the North - with many decades of experience from traffic between Norway, Sweden and Finland.
  • Customs clearance and freight forwarding services - complete solutions for import, export and transit.
  • Waste transport - among other things, Wiiks runs around 65 loads a week of waste from Norwegian reception facilities between Bodø and Kirkenes to incineration plants in Sweden.

This is an operation that demands full control of orders, vehicles, drivers and documentation - across national borders, long distances and strict regulations. That is exactly where FleetX comes in.

Why Wiiks chose FleetX

For a company like Wiiks - with high volumes, long routes and demanding documentation requirements - three things were central to the decision:

  • One system for the entire flow. From the moment an order comes in until the invoice is sent, everything is handled in the same platform. No double entry, no jobs lost between spreadsheets and emails.
  • Real-time overview. Dispatchers see the status of every order, every driver and every vehicle in a single view - whether the truck is in Skibotn, on its way over Kilpisjärvi or parked at an incineration plant in Sweden.
  • Cloud-based and scalable. Log in from anywhere, on any device. No local servers, no IT headaches - and a platform that grows in step with Wiiks.

In addition, FleetX is built for varied operations and handles general cargo, distribution, construction jobs and waste transport in the same system. That matches the breadth of Wiiks' service range well.

Time tracking with tachograph integration

On top of the TMS itself, Wiiks is also adopting FleetX time tracking - with direct integration to tachograph data.

For a transport company with more than 100 employees and a lot of long-haul work, this delivers real value day to day:

  • Driving and rest times are calculated automatically from real data in the vehicle - no manual entry, no room for interpretation.
  • Timesheets fill themselves in for the drivers, based on the tachograph's records.
  • Deviations are caught early, so both driver and manager can deal with them before they become a problem.
  • Payroll data is right first time, because the figures come from a single source of truth.

For a business operating across national borders, where driving and rest time regulations must be followed to the letter, this means both reduced risk and significantly less administration.

Ready for the road ahead

Over more than 50 years, Wiiks Transport has built its reputation as a reliable partner for customers who need safe transport, customs clearance and freight forwarding services in the north. With FleetX they get a modern, cloud-based platform to build on - and a system as flexible as their operations demand.

We look forward to travelling on with Wiiks, and to seeing how a new digital backbone can contribute to even more efficient operations, better visibility and even higher quality for their customers.
